Duo

Pianist Jansen Ryser and Sophie Negoïta met at the age of 6, when they shared music theory classes at the Lausanne Conservatory. Ten years later, their friendship as well as their musical understanding pushed them to form a duo and from then on, they performed regularly in recitals in Switzerland.

The duo was broadcast on RTS (Swiss radio and television) on the Espace2 channel. He regularly performs in recitals in Switzerland. In 2020, Sophie and Jansen reached the semi-final of the Nadia and Lili Boulanger competition in Paris. In 2022 they participated in a duo master class with Simon Lepper from the “Royal School of Music, London”. They are currently following the “Postgraduate Lied Collaboration program at the Mozarteum University Salzburg” where they study with Stephan Genz.

Sophie and Jansen's repertoire is made up of works by the great classics Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven as well as more eclectic and contemporary pieces by Webern, Crumb and Saariaho. In 2020 they recorded their first CD “Miniature”. In June 2022, they will give a double recital with baritone Yannick Débus and pianist Dominik Chabot for Art Association, Salle Paderewski in Lausanne.
